Old Marsh CC is a beautiful property located 10 minutes off the highway (I95) in the coastal community of Wells, ME. The facility boasts two Har-Tru tennis courts, a swimming pool complex with locker rooms, a beautiful stone patio overlooking the 10th tee, and a fantastic food & beverage operation for all of your event needs. The Bar & Grill is open to the public always.
The heart and soul of OM is a stunning championship 18-hole golf course designed by world renowned designer Brian Silva, famous for Red Tail, The Renaissance Club, Cape Cod National, and many more. Resurrection Golf took the reigns of this beautiful and prestigious facility & 18 hole golf club in early 2017, it was our second property acquisition & golf course management contract and benefited accordingly.
The property was on the verge of foreclosure and bankruptcy, which obviously comes with a slew of issues. We went to work. The property was nearly 2 years behind on their property tax bill - we paid it. The turf equipment wasn’t sufficient so you can imagine neither were the current cultural practices. We negotiated the debt down and brought in a brand new fleet of maintenance equipment, began a turf rehabilitation program that included aerating the entire golf course multiple times, extensive bunker repair, and much more. The difference is astounding, the conditions have never been better.
The Golf Cart fleet was virtually non-existent, we replaced it with a brand new fleet. We interviewed and hired staff that we know would get the job done the way the property deserves. We worked very hard to make OMCC a 4 season property by adding Virtual Golf Simulators in the winter months. We see almost 100% utilization for the hours they are available. This helps keep good staff on year round and turns a seasonal property into a year-round property.
We love Old Marsh, it was a Top 5 public golf course in Maine when it opened in 2008. We do what we know how to do to continue and build on that legacy. We take pride in what we’ve done there and what we have planned for the future.
